10 Lakh Names Added in Social Security Pension

CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao unveiled the social security pensions for ten lakh new beneficiaries as part of the government’s “Aasara” scheme during the celebrations for the country’s 75th Independence Day. For the first time, beneficiaries are individuals who are over 57. It used to be restricted to persons 65 and older. Instead of just raising the pension amount, the goal is to cover all eligible seniors. Aasara pensions will also provide coverage for kidney patients who depend on dialysis. The government of Telangana offers seniors 65 and older the TS Aasara pension. K. Chandrasekhar Rao pledged during the 2018 election campaign to extend this program to adults ages 57 to 65. The Society for the Elimination of Rural Poverty of the Department of Rural Development is inviting applications from qualified individuals. Anyone who is 57 or older at the time of application may do so.

The Telangana government launched the TS Aasara Pension system with the primary objective of helping the economically underprivileged, the tribal class, AIDS victims, and the disabled to alleviate their daily struggles. Eligibility Criteria for Aasara Pension List

1. For Senior Citizens

The following prerequisites for senior citizen applicants’ eligibility apply:

• The candidate’s minimum age must be 65 years old
• The candidate’s tribe must be extinct or at risk of being extinct
• Fruit and flower vendors, snake charmers, rag pickers, coolies, rickshaw pullers, hand cart pullers, and cobblers are all eligible, whether they live in rural or urban regions
• Those who are homeless or reside in tents or temporary shelters

• Widow Candidates

The prerequisites for widow applicants are mentioned below.

• The candidate’s minimum age must be 18 years old
• The widow must belong to a weak and undeveloped tribal group.
• The following eligibility criteria must be met by potential weavers:
  • At least 50 years of age are required for the weaver.
  • The candidate must be a member of an underdeveloped or primitive tribal group.

• Toddy Tapper

The following prerequisites must be satisfied to qualify as a toddy tapper:

• A toddy tapper must be at least fifty years old.
• The beneficiary is a toddy tapper cooperative member.
• The candidate must be a member of an underdeveloped or marginalized tribal group

• Impaired Applicants

The following prerequisites must be fulfilled by candidates who are disabled:

• All ages are welcome to participate in this program. No restrictions on age
• The person must come from an impoverished, vulnerable tribe.

• Address Verification proving the applicant’s residency in the state
• Registration in the Cooperative Society of Toddy Tappers on Xerox

• Registration with the Co-operative organization of weavers as a Xerox copy (weavers)
