Assam Orunodoi Scheme went into effect on August 17, 2020, and the government began the process of selecting recipients on October 2, 2020, followed by the disbursement of funds. According to the budgetary allocation of 2800 crore, about seventeen lakh families receive 830 INR each month from the Assam government to help poor families with annual incomes of less than two lakhs. Assam Orunodoi Scheme 2023

The Assam government started the Assam Orunodoi Scheme on December 1, 2020. In Assam, the Orunodoi Scheme will provide recipients with Rs 830 each month to purchase basic things including medications, beans, sugar, and other necessities. Rs 400 will be allocated to the purchase of medicines, Rs 200 to the purchase of 4 kilograms of beans, Rs 80 to the purchase of sugar, and Rs 150 to the purchase of fruit origin. Around 22 lakh people will be covered under this scheme. The scheme was introduced by Assam’s chief minister, SarbanandaSonowal, at a gathering in Amingaon, Kamrup district. The administration also intends to expand the program to include eight lakhs more families. • The Assam government has also started the Sarba Brihat DBT Scheme on August 17th, and beneficiary selection will commence with a regional advisory panel.
• The plan will only be given to women to ensure that it is used properly by the family.

Beneficiaries Eligible

Procedure for Selecting the Assam Orunodoi Scheme Beneficiary

The recipients of the Assam Orunodoi plan will be chosen using the following procedure:-

• The district-level monitoring committee will be in charge of finalizing the recipient list in accordance with the criteria.
• Under this scheme, the preliminary selection will be done at the village council development committee/gaun Panchayat/urban local body.
• The village council development committee/gaun Panchayat/urban local body must create an undertaking cum checklist based on the conditions of eligibility and ineligibility.
• Annexure A will have this checklist attached.
• The member secretary of the DLMC will assemble this checklist by LAC so that it may be presented to the district-level monitoring committee for prioritizing and selection.
• Following that, the district-level committee must prioritize the candidate list.
• This committee will now be in charge of ensuring that recipients’ detailed application forms are filed.
• Details and other information will be collected using this form bank.
• The approved final list is now being uploaded.
• The beneficiaries’ information will be confirmed following the uploading process.
• If there is some inconsistency in the details then it will address.
• After all of the relevant processes have been completed, the finance department will use the PMFS technique to transfer the funds to the beneficiary’s accounts.

• The finance department will keep track of all the information about the beneficiaries in a database.

• The Assam government’s finance department would be in charge of overseeing the Assam Orunodoi initiative.
• The commissioner and secretary of the finance department will oversee the scheme’s implementation.
