Delhi Nursery Admission 2022

Delhi Nursery Admission is an initiative taken by the Directorate of Education, Delhi for the child of economically weaker sections and the disadvantaged category. Under this program, the Delhi State Government will finance the preschool studies of the beneficiaries. The applicant who meets the eligibility criteria can apply for admission under this program. Apart from general category admission, as per the Right to Education Act 2009, there are 25% reserved seats for students who need not pay a fee. In Delhi, 1700 private schools are there that have approximately 1.25 lakh seats for Nursery admission.

Delhi Nursery Admission Registration Procedure Commences

From 18 February 2021 Delhi Nursery admission across 1700 private schools in Delhi has started for class nursery, kg, and class 1. The deadline to fill out the application form for nursery admission is 4th March 2021. The schools of Delhi have notified the number of seats to the Delhi education department on 15 February 2021. Around 75% of seats in the nursery are reserved for general category students and the rest of the seats are for the economically weaker section and disadvantaged category students. This year due to covid-19 the application process will be online. Parents require to visit the official website of the school and from there they can apply for admission. While submitting the application form below mentioned documents:-

• Passport-size photograph of a child
• Passport-size photograph of mother/father/guardian
• Family photograph (mother, father, and child)
• Aadhar card of the child
• Birth certificate of the child
• Address proof

Reservations And Age Limit Of Delhi Nursery Admission

Several rules regarding the age limit and reservation have been incorporated by the education department of Delhi. According to these rules, a child is required to attain at least 4 years of age to take admitted to the nursery, 5 years of age to take admitted to kg and the child should be less than 6 years to take admitted to class 1. Around 22% of seats are reserved for the economically weaker section and disadvantaged group category students and 3% of seats are reserved for children with special needs and the admission for these students will be conducted by the Delhi Directorate of Education through a centralized process.

The main objective of Delhi Nursery admission is to provide the facility of taking admission in nursery class through the official website to the economically weaker section and disadvantaged category children. Now the parents can apply for nursery admissions sitting at their home. They are not required to visit schools for the admission of their children. Delhi Nursery Admission Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria may apply for admission under this initiative of the Doctorate of Education, Government of Delhi:

• The age of the applicant for Nursery or Pre-School is 3 to 5 years, KG or Pre-Primary is 4 to 6 years and Class I is 5 to 7 years as on March 31, 2021
• Family income should not be more than 1 Lakh rupees per year
• Applicants must belong to the family of economically weaker sections and the disadvantaged category.  
• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Delhi.

Age Limit Under Delhi Nursery Admission

Note:- The age relaxation of up to 30 days can be granted for admission at the level of head of the school. The parents can approach the head of the school or principal in order to avail relaxation through the manual application.

Document Required for Delhi Nursery Admission

Following are the documents required for admission:

Some Important Instructions Regarding Admission

• The department has not allowed any kind of deviation from the schedule
• Every school is required to display the schedule of admission on the website and notice board
• The application form should be available to all the applicants till the last date of submission of the application form which is till 7th January 2022
• School can only charge Rs 25 from the parents as registration fees
• It is optional to purchase the prospectus of the schools
• All the private unaided recognized School who are admitting children in preschool or pre-primary and class 1 level are required to reserve 25% sheet for EWS/DG category student
• The Directorate of Education abolished 62 criteria that were adopted by the private schools during the admission process which were found to be unfair and reasonable and non-transparent. These criteria should not be considered for admission
• All the private schools is required to adopt an admission procedure which is reasonable, well-defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous, and transparent
• The private unaided recognized schools are required to upload their criteria adopted for Admission under the open seat at entry-level classes for the academic session 2022-23 on the website that is www.edudel.nic.in . This information must be uploaded before 14th December 2021.
• The criteria-wise breakup of points of all the applicant children should be displayed on the website
• The admission criteria should be in compliance with the provision of rights of persons with disability act 2016 in respect of admission of children with disability
• The criteria and the points that are uploaded by the schools on the portal should be available for public viewing by the parents
• The information available on the website should be accurate

Other Instructions

• The private unaided recognized schools are also required to upload the details of children who have applied for admission under open seats and points allowed to each of them by the schools and their points system
• The draw of lots should be conducted in an fair and transparent manner in the presence of parents
• The parents will be informed about the draw in advance
• The draw will be conducted under videography and its footage will be retained by the school
• The private unaided recognized schools are also required to upload the details of children admitted and a weighted list under open seats
• Schools are also required to upload the criteria along with the related point for admission
• If any school charges any kind of donation from the parents then it shall be considered a punishable offense and the fine may extend to 10 times of the donation
• All the preschools or Montessori schools that are being run by registered societies of trust in Delhi as branches of the recognized unaided schools in or outside the school premises will be deemed as one institution for all the purposes. Therefore schools have to follow single admission process for their preschool and main School considering them as one institution
• The number of seats at the entry-level should not be less than the highest number of seats in the entry class during the previous three years
• Under the chairmanship of the concerned deputy director a project monitoring cell will be constituted in each district that will ensure that every private unaided school must upload the criteria and points on the online module available on the directorate website as per the prescribed time limit

Other Instructions

• The monitoring cell will also redress the grievance of the parents manually or received through an online portal
• After the closure of admission, the deputy director of Education will compile the school-wise details of the vacant seat under the general category in the format 2 and forward the same to the branch in order to publicize the school-wise vacancy details into the public domain so that these vacant seats can be filled
• No private unaided recognized school is permitted to process the admission of EWS/DG freeship category students manually. The department will conduct a draw which will be computerized for Admission under the above-mentioned category

Procedure To Apply For Delhi Nursery Admission 2022

Applicants need to follow the further stated steps to apply for admission under this program:

• To apply for the Nursery Admission Program applicants need to visit the official website of the Directorate of Education, Delhi
• From the home page of the website you need to read the instructions or read this article carefully
• Now you need to search the “Registration for New User” option given in the left-hand side of the page.

• Click on it and a new page will open on the screen, fill out the registration form and enter all the asked information carefully
• Create a registration ID and remember your ID & password
• Now login and fill out the rest application form as asked in it
• Upload the necessary documents in the JPG format/ PDF form as prescribed
