The disposal of sanitary pads has been a major issue ecologically, the ‘kantara’ fame Sapthami Gowda who is the ambassador for the Shuchi scheme said, that being a national swimmer she faced a lot of difficulties in disposing of sanitary napkins.

Even in a metropolitan city like Bengaluru, the disposal of sanitary pads continues to be a major issue. On average, a woman produces 200 kg of waste till the end of the menstrual cycle which increases pollution. The use of menstrual cups will be the ideal solution for replacing sanitary pads. As it can be used for 8 years.

Women globally are switching pads with menstrual cups. This initiative will change our ecosystem and will cause less pollution.
