Khelo India Scholarship Scheme 2024
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has recently allocated funds worth over Rs. 30.83 crore for the financial year 2023-24, 2571 Khelo India athletes for quarter 4 will get an out-of-pocket allowance (OPA) of Rs 7,71,30,000. The amount provided is a component of the Khelo India Scholarship Programme. Which supports the long-term development of athletes. Under the Long Term Development Programme, approximately 3000 athletes have been identified as Khelo India Athletes. These athletes receive an out-of-pocket allowance of ₹1,20,000 per athlete per year. An additional ₹5 lakh has been earmarked for each athlete for training and competition expenses.
Talented athletes who are part of the Khelo India scheme receive a total annual scholarships of Rs 6.28 lakh, which covers their training, coaching, diet, kitting, medical insurance, kits, and out-of-pocket allowances.
