To give farmers more incentives during their budget announcement, the Maharashtra government has chosen to create the Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana. Farmers that participate in this program will also receive 6,000 rupees from the state government in addition to the program offered by the federal government (PM KISAN). Consequently, farmers will receive Rs. 12,000 in financial aid per year, divided by 6,000 from the Shetkari Samman Yojana and 6,000 from PM-KISAN. The State’s farmer suicide rate will also go down due to this program, which will also increase crop productivity. This program will be available to all farmers in Maharashtra, and the government would pay funds to farmers’ bank accounts using the Direct Benefit Transfer method.
