Jagananna Vidya Deewana Scheme Fee Reimbursement

96403 Students Benefited From Visakhapatnam District

96,403 pupils in the Visakhapatnam district benefit from the Jagananna Vidya Deewana scheme. A.Mallikarjuna, the district collector, provided this information. The Guidelines for the Implementation of the Jagananna Vidya Deevena were issued by Chief Secretary Satish Chandra of the Higher Education Department of Andhra Pradesh on March 23, 2020. The department has released the following guidelines:

  • Fees will be collected in colleges according to the fee notification issued by the State Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission.
  • There should be no other fees collected from students beyond those set by the government.
  • Students’, teachers’, and non-teaching staff’s attendance will now be tracked using Aadhaar-linked Biometric Attendance.
  • If a student’s attendance is less than 75%, no fee reimbursement is available.
  • This scheme does not apply to deemed or private universities.
  • Students enrolled in distance learning or correspondence courses are not eligible for the programme.
  • This scheme does not apply to students who are part of the management or NRI quotas.
  • Because to the coronavirus, all schools and universities are closed until March 31, 2020. In light of the nationwide lockdown, the state government has determined that students who receive lunch at school would have it delivered to their homes. The Andhra Pradesh State Government also issued an order instructing district education official and concerned departments to prepare rice, eggs, and peanut “chikkis” for distribution to children.
