Sabooj Sathi Scheme 2021
This scheme has been launched by the concerned authorities of the West Bengal government to create an impact on the students’ life of the West Bengal State. The students will be able to get a bicycle so that they can go to their concerned schools without any worry. It will be highly beneficial for the students who are not able to get anything because of the poor economic condition of their parents. The scheme also got the prestigious world summit on the information society award under the United Nations. The government will be distributing around 10 lakh bicycles under this scheme. This scheme will be going to be started under this financial year. Also, the Chief Minister of the West Bengal state has said to double the amount of cycle distribution.
Objective Of Sabooj Sathi Scheme
The main objective of launching the scheme is to provide proper vehicle facilities to the students who are studying in Government schools of the West Bengal State. This scheme will also increase retention in the schools of West Bengal State. The students will also be able to make higher education more seriously when they will have a reliable vehicle through which they will easily go to their school. The girls’ students will also be promoted through a sense of confidence and they will be given their own vehicle. Economic friendly and environment-friendly vehicles will be provided to the students so that the use of petrol and diesel vehicles get really less.

Benefits Of Sabooj Sathi Scheme
The main benefit which will be provided through the implementation of this scheme is to provide a lot of facilities to the students who are not able to get any personal vehicle to go to their respective classes. This scheme will definitely help to reduce the dropout rate in Bengal State. Through the implementation of the scheme, the girls’ students will also get proper confidence in using vehicles to go to school. The Chief Minister has also said that they will be preparing another tender to give another and additional 10 lakh bicycles to the students. The students of the West Bengal State will be able to use vehicles that are comfortable and also eco-friendly to go to their respective schools. This will be a very big step in the implementation of the scheme in the state.

- 6 million students of 12000 schools have been benefited from Sabooj Sathi Scheme
- Under this scheme, there is the presence of effective supply chain management of cycles with 1000 trucks for transportation, 2500 intermediate delivery points and 12000 final destinations
- There is also an effective assembly line with 3500 fitters who engages 20000 bicycles per day
- This scheme has reduced the drop out ratios too

- Applicant must be permanent resident of West Bengal
- Student it must be studying in class 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th
- The students must be studying in government run or government aided schools or madrasahs
