The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has disbursed Rs 1261 crore directly into the bank accounts of 1.02 crore women who belong to a self-help group. Under this scheme, this amount has been transferred as interest reimbursement for the third consecutive year. He has also addressed a large gathering in order to empower women.
- The Chief Minister has also highlighted the fact that in the last 3 years the government has disbursed Rs 3615 crores under YSR sunna vadi scheme. So that those women can be benefited who having loans and making timely repayment.
- The government has also discussed with the banks and reduced the interest for women to 8.5% to 9.5% from the existing 12.5% to 13.5%. The Chief Minister has also said that the government is committed to the welfare of women, their economic progress, and the overall development of women.
- He has also listed various women’s welfare schemes and said that since its inception the government has disbursed Rs 1,36,694 crore through direct benefit transfer without any middleman or corruption. Out of this amount Rs 94,318 crores was credited directly to the women beneficiaries.
