Through the Fame India scheme, a total of 78045 automobiles have been sold so far. This project would be implemented with a budget of Rs 10,000 crore from the government. Only 5% of the budget, or Rs 500 crore, has been spent thus far. In terms of sales, through March 2022, 58613 electric two-wheelers have been sold. The government has decided to extend the scheme until 2024 in order to meet the aim of selling 10 lakh units. As of June 26, 2021, the Fame India scheme had sold a total of 78045 electric cars, including 59984 electric two-wheelers, 16499 electric three-wheelers, and 1562 electric four-wheelers.

Electric two-wheeler subsidies have been enhanced from 10,000 KWH to Rs.15,000 KWH, resulting in price reductions for existing electric vehicles. The second phase of this plan will receive budgetary support of Rs.10,000 crore. As of 30 June 2021, this scheme had offered a subsidy of Rs.492 crore to 862 electric buses.
