The Karnataka state government has approved a monthly allowance of 2,000 rupees for Daiva Narthakas. Daiva dancers are those who perform during Daiva worship while dressed as divine beings. Only Daiva dancers above 60 years old will receive the benefit of this honorarium. BJP Member of Parliament PC Mohan tweeted this information. He also stated that the Bhoot Kola custom featured in the film Kantara is part of Hinduism.
